WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) –

The 20th Annual Cucalorus Film Festival is as big a success as ever, but change is on the horizon.

The current film incentives program will give way to a grant program in coming months.

“I think Cucalorus is really well positioned to provide some leadership for the film industry. And to be part of what I hope is kind of a rebirth of the industry and I think this festival serves as an opportunity for me to reimagine what the industry looks like in North Carolina,” said Cucalorus Executive Director, Dan Brawley.

The grant program may not affect the future of the festival, but the long-term effects it will have on the North Carolina film industry are yet to be seen.
