Howdy,
It’s been a couple of weeks since a message has gone out while we’ve been going through some renovations at the TPC location. Apologies. We humbly appreciate your patience while we were closed during that process. But onward and upward! Below are some news and goings-on at your only local Community Media Center, The Peoples Channel and Durham Community Media!
– TPC Facility Update
– Time Warner Cable Transmission Switch
– Festifall: Thanks to all who came by the TPC/DCM18 Booth!
– Board Meeting Tuesday Oct. 15th at TPC
– Upcoming Classes at TPC/DCM18
– TPC Facility Update
We’ve got the shine down on our new tile floors and the place looks great! We’re almost completely settled in, but please stop by and see for yourself how the TPC shop is progressing. The tile floors have plenty of potential for a dance party…
– Time Warner Cable Transmission Switch
If you’re a TWC subscriber and you use a direct wall-to-television connection, you may have noticed an image displayed on your screen stating: “Get your picture back.” This is a result of TWC’s delivery of channels like ours now being exclusively broadcast in a digital format. This means subscribers will need a digital set top box, digital adapter, or CableCard to view our channels.
As the instructions on the image say, contact Time Warner at 1-855-286-1736 or twc.com/digitaladapter to order the adapter necessary to convert the digital signal necessary for receiving on older televisions. If your television is connected through a TWC-supplied digital set top box, all is well.
If you have a newer television that is equipped with a QAM tuner, you may have to do a channel scan to find us on a channel 97 grouping.
Please contact Jeremy at 919/960-0088 if you have any questions or concerns regarding receiving The Peoples Channel or Durham Community Media.
– Festifall: Thanks to all who came by the TPC/DCM18 Booth!
Jeremy was manning the booth at Festifall in Chapel Hill on Sunday. There were many fantastic conversations and lots of folks were introduced (and in some cases, re-introduced) to our organization.
As a very special thank you, we are holding a raffle for those folks who signed up for our email listserv that day. The winner will receive their first year’s membership at either location free of charge! We will be drawing the name soon and will contact the winner directly.
